Biography

Mandee James is a self-taught abstract artist. Originally a graphic designer, she blended her digital skills with her drawing and painting experience, bringing about a perfect marriage of her two passions.

She is fueled by her passion for art and painting. She loves coming up with new and beautiful artwork that will inspire and resonate with others. She loves to learn new techniques and apply them to her artwork to tell stories, which explore the depths of ideas beyond our physical reality.

Artist Statement

My artwork is the product of experimentation, curiosity, and exploration. It is abstract, but also deeply personal, reflecting my own journey, struggles and emotions. I am usually feeling lost in the process of painting, struggling to find a way out until that moment of clarity. I often find myself spending hours in my studio on the weekends, just experimenting with acrylic colors, textures, materials, and styles, such as mixed media and modeling paste. I apply these techniques to my artwork to tell stories, which explore the depths of ideas beyond our physical reality.

Art is a universal language that connects us all. I find it therapeutic to be creative and express myself in a way that I might not be able to with words. I enjoy being creative and making my own rules when it comes to my art, exploring what inspires me most.
